Ontology-based representation for assurance and compliance

Link for signup and the webinar will be provided closer to the event.

In highly regulated industries, assurance and compliance management represent challenging activities. This is due to the need of navigating rapidly shifting requirements. Products may evolve rapidly creating a product line in time in addition to the one in space. Products and product variability are constrained by legislation, standards, etc. whose applicability may vary depending on the jurisdiction.

In this webinar, Barbara Gallina will briefly recall pieces of background information on the Semantic Web Technologies (RDF Graph, SHACL, SPARQL). Then, based on those technologies, she will propose an ontology-based representation for managing product variability in compliance with applicable legislations while assuring trust-related properties of interest. Specifically, she will provide the representation in Resource Description Framework (RDF), shaped via SHACL (Shapes Constraint Language) constraints, and queried via a set of SPARQL queries.

By the end of the seminar, the attendee is expected to gain a sufficient understanding for appreciating the potential of the proposed ontology-based representation.

The webinar welcomes active participation.
